Foodwise (TLC) funding for Food Provision and Teaching

  • About

Following the major impact of the Pandamic, the cost of living crisis and now the mortgage crisis (which will impact working families) plus inflation plus.......all of these combine to restrict family budgets and cause both financial and food insecurity.

Families are in need of support more than ever, but the main aim for Foodwise is to change lives for the long term and education is by far the best way. We can show love and support by feeding people, but if families can be taught cooking skills, it changes lives for all the generations of their family, now and for the future. Most importantly it facilitates healthy eating whilst reducing costs.

With the public's help we have supplied over 80,000 free meals to families in the Woking and Guildford area since April 2020. We want to continue to provide free meals to families through our school freezers and we will match any donation given, up to £100.

Our core aim's are:

Continue to deliver free training courses (six week course, one day a week, with free food sufficient to feed the family that day);

Continue to provide free meals through the schools we support (who select the families to feed);

Extend Shopwise (currently in Sheerwater) across Surrey, in asociation with our working partner FareShare Sussex and Surrey (https://faresharesussexandsurrey.org.uk/)
