The coronavirus has come as a shock to all of us. However, for families and individuals across Guildford and Woking who were already struggling to put food on their table it has been an even greater shock. As a result, these families, and others who have lost their job or become sick, are struggling even more.
Foodwise has stopped its normal activities teaching people to improve their cooking skills and has switched to preparing nutritious cooked meals that can be delivered free of charge to families and/or individuals who are struggling as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. (These meals are on top of any school food vouchers or other support a family may be receiving.)
To date, Foodwise has provided over 36000 meals to numerous families and this number is growing every week as the outbreak continues. We have placed some 8 freezers in schools to allow the schools to feed families in need of support.
We urgently need your help to continue this essential work.
Big or small, your gift will make a real difference to isolated and vulnerable families in their time of need.
£10 will help feed two people with two hot meals for a week
£50 will feed a two familes of 4 with two hot meals for a week
£100 will feed four families of 4 with two hot meals for a week
£200 will feed a two families of 4 with two hot meals per week for over a month
Together, with your help, we can do our best to make sure that no one who is struggling at this time goes hungry and that our children are fed, especially whilst the schools are closed.
